Coronavirus Cases LIVE: Coronavirus cases in India has climbed to 16,38,871 when the country recorded its record single-day spike of more than 55,000 cases in a span of 24 hours on Friday. As per the bulletin by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded a spike of 55,079 cases and 779 deaths. Delhi recorded 1,195 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the tally in the city to over 1.35 lakh, while the death toll from the disease mounted to 3,963. India's coronavirus case fatality rate is progressively declining and now stands at 2.18 per cent, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Friday. He also said that out of the total active cases, only 0.28 per cent patients are on ventilators, 1.61 per cent patients needed ICU support and 2.32 pc are on oxygen support. - Coronavirus LIVE Updates: Delhi records 1,075 fresh Covid - 19 cases, tally rises to 1.3 lakh
India reported nearly 49,000 new cases on Saturday, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases past 13 lakh. India also registered 757 deaths due to the novel coronavirus, taking the death toll to 31,358. Out of 13,36,861 infections recorded so far, over 4.5 lakh are active cases while 8,49,432 patients have recovered. It may be noted that the country has been recording over 40,000 cases since July 23. Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state with over 1.4 lakh active cases and 13,132 deaths. Tamil Nadu remains on the second spot with over 53,132 active cases and 3,320 deaths. Meanwhile, Delhi continues to witness improvement in Covid-19 numbers and now has less than 14,000 active cases. Over 1.10 lakh people have recovered in Delhi after getting infected. The rapid rise in cases over the past few days has forced many states to reimpose lockdowns restrictions.
